Letter from the Co-Presidents
Welcome to Chicago Echo Society 2008.
This year promises to be filled with more informative and exciting meetings at many of the major medical instiutions in our city and suburbs. The meetings typically begin with a light dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by a brief didactic lecture on a topic of interest and then interesting case presentations from the hosting institution and those attending. We encourage everyone coming to bring their unusual cases so all of us can benifit from seeing and learning. You can bring your cases on video or CD format. The presentations are always outstanding and often stimulate an active discussion regarding the underlying pathology or clinical management. A certificate is often awarded for the best case presentation at the meetings.
Didactic topics such as: Optimizing Bi-ventricular Pacing, Microbubble Assessment of Myocardial Viability, Diagnosis of Congenital Heart Disease, Update on Prosthetic Heart Valves, Diastolic Dysfuntion, and Intraoperative Echocardiography, are among those recently presented.
Whether you are a cardiology fellow interested in passing echo boards, a sonographer wanting to broaden your knowledge, or an attending cardiologist who desires to sharpen echo skills, consider coming to our meetings and joining the Society.
Sonographer members of the CSE can receive 1.0 units of credit per meeting toward their continuing educational requirement.
